Principal’s Message

 I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead such a prestigious school for more than a decade as
the school principal. This school is equipped with a wide variety of resources for every child, both in
and out of the classroom. Khalsa School Old Yale Road has earned a reputation of academic
excellence by winning many distinctions in several Canada, Provincial, and school level
competitions. Our students start learning all the skills from a very young age. They are motivated to
start participating in academic competitions organized by various universities such as the
University of Windsor, University of Waterloo, University of British Columbia, Fraser Institute of BC.
We are committed to helping all our students become the most productive and responsible
members of the community. Our students enjoy a safe learning environment which fosters their
social emotional, physical, and intellectual growth.

I believe that every student can learn and be successful if provided the right support and
opportunities. Our teachers act as guides and coaches for learning for all students, including those
with diverse learning needs. They work hard and train their students to achieve academic
excellence through inquiry-based projects, technology, and hands-on activities. They are
committed to providing all students with an appropriate and challenging educational experience in
a respectful environment that fosters learning and growth. Khalsa School Old Yale Road curriculum
is a special curriculum embedded with Sikh history and culture that teaches children to respect
every living being.
At Khalsa School Old Yale Road, we recognize that family and community support are integral to
our success. We are thankful to school’s Parent Advisory Committee for its’ dedication to find useful
resources that can benefit every student. Every child’s voice is heard as we have a full-time school
counselor who spends hours with students as well as parents to help and support them to go
through difficult times.
All learning begins by looking inwardly. Self-awareness, and reflection on learning are the two main
components that help student and teachers grow. We organize Professional Development Days for
teachers and Educational Fairs for students for their social, emotional, and academic growth.
I believe that we need to create something that has never been created before and that can be
created by working together. With new technology and endless social media apps, our children
need a team of guides that can guard and support the young minds to follow the right direction.
Our full-time counsellor along with administration team works with the parents. I look forward to
celebrating our success with our staff and community and wish for a brighter future for all students
at Khalsa School Old Yale Road!
